MALVERN, GLEN WAVERLY, DONCASTER, BOX HILL AND SURRUNDING SUBURBS

We are seeking Community Disability Support Workers who are passionate and focused in facilitating and supporting people living with a disability in achieving individual goals, personal development and strengthening their existing skills, abilities, and confidence by accessing services operated by mecwacare.


What you bring:


  • Certificate IV in Disability or
  • Certificate III in Individual support with Disability component, along with 2 years' experience in Disability
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Screening
  • All applicants require a successful Police Check and comply with vaccination requirements.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities from diverse backgrounds.
  • A flexible and 'can do' attitude in assisting people with a disability to form and maintain meaningful relationships and connections within their communities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for networking with participants, families and the community sector;
  • A strong understanding of NDIS Code of Conduct and Best Practice Standards.
  • Current Victorian Driver's License to transport community participants to include community participation

Desirable:


  • Ability to manage and maintain daily observations and daily documentation
  • An understanding or a desire to learn the principles of personcentered planning and experience in transforming plans into actions.
