Who are we looking for?


Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Committees Officer to join Office of Research Ethics and Integrity, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.

The Committees Officer is responsible for providing secretarial services to three

University Management Committees:
the University Biosafety Committee (UBC), University Animal Ethics Committee (UAEC) and University Human Research Ethics Committee (UHREC).

The Committees Officer is the person primarily responsible for servicing the flow of information and business through the committee systems and provides information about committee decisions.

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.


You will demonstrate:

  • Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree with at least four years' subsequent relevant work experience.
  • Advanced written communication skills including the ability to draft complex correspondence, submissions, reports, meeting agendas and minutes with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people, in particular, at senior levels, in a professional manner, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective and cooperative member of a team in a dynamic and flexible environment with a creative and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and effectively to new demands and unexpected challenges at short notice and to work under pressure with mínimal supervision to meet deadlines and goals, and produce work with a high degree of accuracy.
