The Chief Financial Officer unit is responsible for the integrity of the financial information of the business and the custodian of shareholder value.
This includes accounting, all facets of financial reporting, non-life and life actuarial reporting, expense management and processing, capital management, investments, treasury and tax.
The division is a shared service function servicing all Munich Re entities in Australia and New Zealand.
Reporting to the CFO, the Manager, Treasury and Investments is responsible for oversight and control of cash management and investment coordination across all entities of Munich Re Australia.
Your Role
- Coordinate, implement, monitor and enhance the investment strategies of the local risk carriers and holding company
- Oversee and control Investment Management Agreements between local APRA authorised entities and outsourced functions in headoffice and external asset management providers
- Support investment proposals from Head Office whilst ensuring that local risk, capital and governance aspects are assessed and captured
- Foster a collaborative and transparent relationship between central investment units and the local MHA/MRA Boards
- Liquidity planning and cashflow monitoring to ensure timely funding of all payments whilst limiting unnecessary trading activity
- Ensure careful capital management across all entities by working with actuarial, finance and global teams on capital efficiency projects and transactions (capital return/injections) with headoffice
- Build relationships with all outsourced service providers whilst following a monitoring program against documented service level agreements and service standards
- Design and implement processes to identify, treat and monitor inherent risks, within each area of functional responsibility

Your profile
- Degree or professional qualification in a finance related discipline (e.g. CPA, CA, CFA etc.)
- 5+ years experience with investment processes within Financial Services and capturing back, middle and front office functions
- Understanding of finance, accounting and capital management principles, from within an APRA regulated entity
- Experience in preparation and presentation of executive/board reports
