Curtin's School of Nursing is the longest established school of nursing in the Australian university sector.
From the time it opened 47 years ago, the school has been a key part of the University's drive to be a leader in health sciences education and research.
The school delivers a range of undergraduate courses in nursing, oral health therapy and paramedicine; and specialist postgraduate courses in areas ranging from diabetes and critical care, to child health and midwifery.
In this role you will:
- Deliver high quality teaching to undergraduate students within the Nursing courses.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing reflective improvement in teaching.
- Conduct tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions, as appropriate, which stimulate and foster student learning.
- Mark and assess student work.
- Contribute to curriculum innovation and content design.
- Undertake nationally competitive and high quality research in discipline/field.
- Develop a coherent programme of research (to be agreed through PCP process).
- Disseminate research findings through seminars, workshops and conferences
- Publish/exhibit in high quality refereed journals/outlets in manner consistent with disciplinary practice.

- A doctoral qualification, or a Masters degree and/or substantial progress towards the completion of a Masters degree (or equivalent accreditation) and professional standing for the Lecturer role.
- Registered with AHPRA (or the equivalent Australian health professional regulatory authority).
- Demonstrated high level teaching skill and a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching delivery.
- Demonstrated experience/clinical practice within a clinical specialty/discipline
- An understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline and experience of scholarship in teaching.
- A record of research outputs in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree research students.
- Experience in the field of mental health.
