Three Blue Ducks at The Farm Byron Bay is set on an 80-acre farm and Macadamia Orchard with views of both the hinterland and Byron's iconic lighthouse.

Our restaurant is open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is available on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with wedding and other events being held throughout the year.

The Ducks' Supervisor is a key role within the Ducks' team.

Responsible for playing a key role in the overall success of the venue by ensuring each guest has a positive and unforgettable experience with us at The Ducks.

This role also plays a part in ensuring both the front and back of the house staff are working together cohesively to achieve the same goals and objectives.


Key Responsibilities are not limited to:

Day to Day

  • Check Reservations system for large group reservations and other bookings
  • Manage, coordinate and supervise staff rosters & shifts
  • Ensure the venue and facilities are clean and organised
  • Support the Restaurant Manager on daily Front of the House and Back of the House operations

Events:


  • Working closely with the Events team on Events in the venue and scheduling staff accordingly, as well as ensuring the venue is prepared and presentable
  • Working closely with the Events team to ensure a smooth sailing of events in the restaurant, and adapting to a "One Team One Dream" environment

Customer Service:


  • Conversing with guests to support floor staff when needed, and to ensure all is up to standards
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Aim to provide the best possible dining experience for all of our customers
  • Taking reservations, greeting guests, and assist in taking/running orders
  • Aware of customer service challenges and facilitate improvements to prevent recurrence

Operations

  • Coordinating daily restaurant management operations
  • Estimate consumption, forecast requirements and maintain inventory
  • Stock ordering as required
  • Estimate future needs and repairs around furniture, bar, and cleaning etc.
  • Working with the reservations team and DMC on maintaining stock levels for the product store, menu changes, open hours changes

Marketing

  • Support the planning and development of the overall restaurant marketing strategy with the Marketing & Communications Manager
  • Support the promotion of the venue in the local community through wordofmouth and restaurant events
  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads)
  • Maintaining the venue's presentation and standards at all times and suggest ways to improve in

Administrative:


  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Control operational costs and minimise waste to ensure all practices are as sustainable as possible
  • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly, and annual revenues and expenses
  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations
  • Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions
  • Ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and suitable appearance.

Management:


  • Nurture a positive working environment
  • Supervise a team of employees; work to create a cohesive unit of people who effectively communicate
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Ensuring all staff are trained and receive ongoing in conjunction with Human Resources
  • Ensuring our food is being delivered in a high quality and consistent manner

Capabilities

  • Proven work experience in a high volume setting as a Supervisor or Manager of a restaurant
  • Extensive Food & Beverage knowledge
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Dependable & reliable
  • Comfortable setting priorities and setting tasks as required
  • Possess excellent problemsolving, communication skills, organisational skills, and planning skills to both customers & employees
  • Excellent verbal & written English skills
  • Proficient computer skills including experience in Microsoft Office is strongly desired.
