About The Role


Thiess currently has an opportunity for a Training Support Coordinator to join the People team in our Australian Operations - Mackay division.

This role is based at Thiess' Mackay Office in Queensland.


As the Training Support Coordinator, you will coordinate Thiess' Mackay Training Facility including planning and coordination of various onboarding programs supporting the QLD operations.

The position will support Thiess' Mackay talent programs and training programs for regional deployment.


As the Training Support Coordinator, you will engage leadership and teams to help develop and embed a robust training content to be a dependable point of enquiry to serve as the custodian of learning and development for the Mackay site training team.

The role will establish, control, and facilitate ongoing maintenance and training to hold everything and everyone together.
About You

You will have demonstrated learning and development experience coupled with a strong work ethic to deliver exceptional training services.

You will relish the opportunity to liaise with various stakeholders to develop this dynamic position and strengthen our key internal and external relationships.

You enjoy building trust and influencing across training organisations to successfully help provide the team with administrative support to develop relationships from within the Mackay talent team, HR, payroll, superintendents, maintenance coordinators.


You have a minimum certificate IV in training and assessment (or partial completion) as you will be responsible for the development and implementation of training plans in line with business objectives and strategies.

You will partner with functional leadership in to provide training solutions that fit business needs.

You have well-developed written and oral communications skills, and you seek to proactively gather training effectiveness metrics, analyse data and review, edit and re-design existing curriculum.

You will be proficient using various LMS', iPad and other digital training platforms and have adept influencing skills to deploy programs across regions.


You have an innate ability to create & develop the ultimate learning experience with internal teams in field and group trainings.

You share a passion for conducting trainings; expert in providing education on the assisting training superintendents with site training management plans (TMPs) as part of a position requirement matrix (PRMs) and training standards.
