Graduate Consultant (Environment)
SRK Consulting is an international independent employee-owned consulting practice, providing integrated consulting services to the resource sector.
The Role
This exciting learning opportunity may see you undertaking the following duties:
- Contributing to geochemical characterisation studies (soil, mine wastes, and ore) which may involve site-based field work
- Groundwater and surface water sampling
- Using GIS to produce maps and report figures
- Introduction to geochemical modelling to support data interpretation and predict geochemical outcomes
- Condensing technical data into fit for purpose reports and presentations.
- Closure cost estimation modelling and reporting
- Supporting the preparation of proposals in response to client needs and other business development activities
- Interacting with SRK clients.
- Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geochemistry, Environmental Science or related discipline with relevant experience (such as Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering)
- Fieldwork and sample collection experience
- Experience with laboratory procedures, and processing and interpreting laboratory data
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Language fluency in English including the ability to contribute to high quality technical reports.
- Australian Resident or person with existing Working Visa
- Willingness to travel (including remote locations)
Additional desirable experience includes:
- Field work / mine site experience (e.g. geological logging, sampling of soils, water, rock)
- Design, implementation or participation in site investigations / sampling programs
- Assessment and reporting of geochemical and other data
- Use of ArcGIS and/or geological modelling software (e.g. Leapfrog)
- Some exposure to mine closure cost modelling and planning
