About us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year.
About the role
- Develop, implement, and coordinate efficient operational and administrative processes including document tracking and control and proactively create and implement new systems to streamline processes as required.
- Develop and maintain essential business documents including but not limited to; work plans and reports, organisational charts, contact lists, information databases and tracking systems.
- Liaise with the judiciary, external organisations, groups and individuals that interface with the court.
- Operate relevant computer systems, including casemanagement systems such as Courtlink and other technologies such as PowerApps ensuring information is captured accurately.
- Under direction of SFVC Manager and FV Registrar, facilitate referrals to courtbased support services and communitybased service providers attending the court.
- In conjunction with specialist MCV staff, help facilitate and administer precourt engagement functions.
- Coordinate and administer finance and HR processes, in consultation with the Senior Registrar and other specialist MCV staff
- Undertake analysis to provide detailed advice to the SFVC Manager and FV Registrar for the utilisation of resources to effectively coordinate operational support functions
- Under direction, coordinate and contribute to projects and initiatives related to the operational needs of the court, including planning, coordinating tasks and tracking the completion of milestones.
- Contribute to and coordinate initiatives related to the operational needs of the court, as directed by the Senior Registrar and/or Operations Manager.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with specialist staff and other key stakeholders to aid in the achievement of SFVC operational goals and objectives.
- Draft and prepare briefings and formal communications relating to the operational functioning of the court, ensuring compliance with organisational and best practice requirements.
- Prepare evidencebased reports, based on research and data analysis, to inform the courts' operational decision making.
- Other duties as required commensurate with role classification
About you
You will have experience in coordinating administrative and operational support processes within a challenging work environment. You will have demonstrated experience in identification and implementation of process improvements. You will have the ability to work autonomously, taking initiative and contributing to the efficient functioning of a broader team
