The opportunity
We are working with a very successful, global engineering consultancy firm to find a Transport Lead with a strong network and understanding of the transport infrastructure market to develop and implement strategies for growth.
The Person
As a key client focal point, this role will continue to grow and advance the Transport division for both new and existing projects.
You will be a technical expert with substantial experience in roads, tunnels, bridges and/or rail with proven success tendering and delivering projects from design to delivery.
The 'Ideal' person will have:
- A Civil Engineering degree
- Demonstrated experience securing and delivering work in the transport sector
- Previous experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Strong industry knowledge, local networks, and Business Development experience
- Experience with transport and advisory contracts is advantageous
- Effective leadership skills and previous experience leading teams and mentoring technical staff
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as an ambassador for company to provide a holistic approach to business development and client service
- Assist in developing marketing strategies/plans for the Victoria Transport team (potentially also South Australia at a later stage)
- Anticipate opportunities and trends in the market sector and in adjacent market sectors
- Research and collect market intel and communicate with other Transport leads
- Work with other team leads, other discipline leads, regional leads across the business to ensure an aligned strategic business growth
- Build strong relationships and interact regularly with clients, each state team, teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders linked to the Transport sector
- Maintain relationships with existing clients
- Development and leadership in major pursuits and provide oversight of pursuit plans / business development activities that conform to the business development strategy and technical capabilities across the east coast
- Liaise with Business Development Managers within the teams and assist in developing strategies for targeting certain clients or sectors
- Attend and present at industry events to assist in promoting company brand
- Responsible for managing and developing direct reports, including managing talent, learning and development and proactively supporting the performance management process
