About the role


The Portfolio Planner is responsible for supporting Jemena Network Services (JNS) management and delivery teams with performance analytics and monitoring and development consolidated yearly resource and material plan.


The Portfolio Planner is responsible for:

  • Coordinating the development and the approval of the annual works program and the delivery strategy.
  • Developing supply planning, resourcing and monitoring strategies with Delivery Managers to deliver the program of work for Capital & Opex programs in Gas Distribution and Transmission (excluding Routine Maintenance programs).
  • Coordinating financial forecasts and establishing baselines for measuring time, cost and quality.
  • Liaising with Asset Management to manage variations to the Capital & Operating Works Plan (COWP) and maintain the up to date capital program of works.
  • Providing analytical support to the Gas Distribution and Transmission management functions, with a focus on forecasting volumes, costs and resources.
  • Identifying, analysing and monitoring projects of a similar nature across the business and liaising with other regions to optimise synergies and improve long term cost efficiencies.
  • Supporting management and governance forums through the analysis of available data and by developing monitoring/control mechanisms for projects and programs.
  • Develop and strengthen relationship with Asset Management to ensure that customer expectations are met whilst matching Jemena's delivery capabilities.

About you

  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering, Project Management or Business Management (Desirable).
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
  • Comprehensive experience managing Construction Programs and Projects which involve detailed stakeholder negotiations to ensure that projects occur on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated experience of implementing and/or continually improving operational process and systems.
  • Highly developed verbal, interpersonal, communication, facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analysis skills (e.g. data integrity, probability and statistical analysis).
  • Developing and managing systems and tools that provide clear visibility of demand and supply status (e.g. Excel, SAP, PowerBI, Analytics for Excel, SAP BO, etc).
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Proven ability to selfmanage workflow and demonstrate initiative.
