Mechanical Fitter's, for overhaul activities on Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) and Locomotive components (wheel motors, alternators, traction motors, cartridges, blower, radiator fans)

About the role
- Disassemble, inspect, requalify, HME/Locomotive components (wheel motors, alternators, traction motors, cartridges, blower, radiator fans
- Measure and inspect critical journals/bores
- Requalification inspections of bearings and pinions
- Assembly of HME components including
- Component preparation
- Component installation
- Bearing installation
- Quality checks throughout assembly
- Use of iPad to manage job progression
- Ensure active involvement in Lean practices
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safety environment
- Engagement and commitment to UGL OneHSE culture
- Inhouse training provided
About You
- Relevant Trade Qualification as Mechanical Fitter; Mechanical Machine Repair or equivalent
- Experience in the overhaul of AC and DC traction motors.
- Experience in overhaul of alternators and / or rotating electrical equipment.
- Sound Electrical and Mechanical experience required
- Experience in similar roles working on GE or EMD motor and associated equipment is highly regarded
- High level of measuring skills and eye for detail and quality standards
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Willingness to learn
