We are currently looking for a:
Raging Waters Sydney - Groundsperson

About the role:


Raging Waters Sydney is Sydney's largest water park, with over 40 attractions and extensive grounds encompassing 25 hectares in Western Sydney.

We have an opportunity for a motivated and reliable Groundsperson to join our Facilities team.


You will deliver a high standard of park presentation within the grounds whilst enhancing the aesthetics of the grounds and ensuring the safety of the general public and team members.


Roles & Responsibilities:


Be able to perform a broad range of hard and soft landscaping to a high standard ranging from design and construction to re-rejuvenation.


  • Assist in the identification, eradication and control of pests, weeds, and diseases.
  • Use of various vehicles, tools and machinery on a regular basis for landscaping and maintenance of grounds.
  • This may include but is not limited to: mowing, edging, brush cutting, pruning, weeding, mulching, turfing, planting, hedging, and other general gardening.
  • Ensure all necessary plant and equipment is maintained and is in safe working order.
  • Assist with the use and maintenance of irrigation systems.
  • Ensure work orders are completed to a high standard within a timely manner.
  • Perform duties on a shift roster basis as required, including weekend work.
  • This may include but is not limited to general rubbish collection, green waste collection and removal, and drain and gutter clearing.
  • Assist with general maintenance duties as required including but not limited to painting.
  • Use of hand held tools as required for general maintenance duties.
  • Liaise with direct supervisors and external contractors regarding work orders.
  • Assist other areas within the facilities department when needed.
  • To carry out all duties and responsibilities assigned by the Facilities Technician, Facilities Manager and any member of the Management Team.

Workplace Health & Safety (WHS):

  • Follow and comply with Work Health Safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Correctly use all safety and personal protective equipment
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours.
  • Report WHS incidents, injuries and safety activities to your direct Manager and First Aid at the time it occurs.
  • Promote proactive hazard/ near miss reporting. Report any hazards or nearmiss incidents to your direct Manager and the People & Culture Director.
  • Attend Work Group Meetings to discuss and promote safety.
  • Liaise with Return to Work Coordinator to assist injured team members returning to work.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, delivery and review of policy and procedures that ensure Raging Waters Sydney meets its various obligations including financial, workplace health and safety, industry and legal requirements.

Education/ Qualifications:

  • High School Certificate
  • Manual Drivers Licence

Languages:

  • Fluent English

Skills:


  • Able to follow and adhere to directives given by immediate Supervisor or Leading Hand.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and complete work, both as an individual and team basis, within a set timetable and in a team environment of change and competing demands
  • At times carry out delegated duties requiring little or no supervision
  • Effective time management skills
  • Understanding and appreciation of WHS standards
  • Adaptability to weather conditions as the role is based mainly outdoors
  • Ability to interact in a professional and positive manner
  • Take initiative and execute plans to accomplish strategic objectives in a fastpaced, evolving environment.

Experience:


  • Previous experience in a similar role
