The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for providing the aviation industry with specialised meteorological services contributing to efficient and effective aviation operations within the Australian Flight Information Regions and the Asia-Pacific Region.

The Bureau's Aviation service provides aviation users with meteorological information necessary for safe and efficient civil aviation operations.

The service includes the provision of observations, forecasts, warnings and advisories, and is provided within the technical and regulatory framework of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).


We are looking for a highly capable communications and organisational change management professional to support the Aviation Service Development program of work within ALMT.

Working in an agile environment, the role with engage with the ALMT extended leadership team to support an uplift in the change management capability across the program and the successful delivery of the program's objectives through adoption and sustaining new ways of working.


The role will be responsible for overseeing communication and change management activities across all streams of the program to ensure changes are planned and managed effectively.

This will include working collaboratively with project teams, business process owners and internal and external stakeholders to identify changes, and to understand and capture impacts.


A key aspect of this role will be to support the effective communication of changes to core forecasting technology and processes to ensure uptake and acceptance of the new solutions.


The role will also design and implement change management plans, including interventions to help people understand changes, and where required, to uplift knowledge and proactively address resistance through coaching and support of people leaders to lead their teams through change.


The role is part of the Bureau's Enterprise Transformation Team, fully deployed to the work of the program, and is supported by central capability resources and tools to assist in the delivery of change planning and delivery activities.
