Location: Based in McKell, Sydney. This role offers flexible and hybrid working including office based days, the opportunity for site/field work and working from home.


About the team

We are looking for an Assistant Project Officer role to join the Project Remediate Team under the Office of the Building Commissioner (OBC).

You will join a multi-disciplinary team of highly motivated officers working to assist owners to remove flammable cladding from residential flat buildings.

While direct experience in the building industry is not necessary, an interest in project management and commitment to delivery of quality results for our customers is essential.

The role is an administrative operational role which supports the Senior Project Officer in project delivery of the program.


Your responsibilities will include
- ****Provide project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans

  • Update and collate documentation and records regarding relevant issues, policies and practices to ensure the delivery of projects complies with agreed project management methodology
  • Undertake basic research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision making and planning
  • Assist the Senior Project Officer to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders regarding project status and implementation issues
  • Provide a range of secretariat and administrative services, including coordinating program meetings and preparing papers, to support project management delivery

  • Be willing to attend site visits.
