Learning Support Worker

Casual positions based in Goulburn, NSW
Pay rates and conditions are in accordance with the _Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. _Hourly rates from $ $38.08 depending on experience + superannuation.


Right to Work is an innovative service program empowering young adults with autism and/or intellectual disability with the skills and confidence needed to experience workplace success, independence, and genuine community inclusion.


We provide training programs and partner with local businesses and community organisations to provide safe, supported work experience opportunities that align with individual Program Learner strengths and interests.


We are looking for outstanding Learning Support Workers who are conscientious, reliable and motivated about supporting positive employment opportunities for people with disability in their local community.

Learning Support Workers ensure that each Program Learner has the space they need to practice new skills and be there to step in for one
- on-one support when needed.

Essential Criteria

  • An understanding of Disability Standards and Work Health & Safety standards
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • An ability to build rapport with young people with varying levels of communication abilities
  • Ability to follow Right to Work policies and procedures including individual Program Learner Plans
  • Ability to use phone/tablet apps for data collection
  • Good cardiovascular fitness ensuring ability to actively participate in a range of wellbeing activities to support Program Learners, including kneeling, getting up and down off floor, bending, lifting (to max 10kg), able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Support Program Learners with personal care needs, which may include using appropriate manual handling equipment, where required
  • Current NSW or National driver's licence
  • Successful applicants will need a Working with Children's Check & National Criminal Record Check

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience working in a training or learning environment, and/or with people with autism and intellectual disability, is desirable but not essential
