We are currently seeking an experienced IT Project Management Practice Lead/PMO for a tier 1 global construction and property company.
This is a dual role, part delivery/part practice lead where you will mentor and coach other project managers while delivering on mainly IT infrastructure projects.
It requires a hands-on seasoned IT project manager who has previous experience setting up a project management practice highly skilled in governance, leadership and coaching.
Key responsibilities and desired experience
- Head the Project Management Practice, driving the exchange of knowledge and fostering the growth of skills and capabilities among internal professionals involved in delivery practices.
- Guide and mentor, a global team of project managers, taking on the central role of project escalation and empowerment. Offer direction and support to ensure the smooth execution of portfolios and projects.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to establish distinct project objectives, scope, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members across the globe, stakeholders, and crossfunctional teams, nurturing a climate of trust and assurance throughout the entirety of the project delivery cycle.
- Implement proven project management standards and processes that align with the Delivery Framework, ensuring a systematic and consistent approach to IT projects.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance procedures for project delivery, maintaining alignment with the Delivery Framework and standards. Participate in stagegate reviews and contribute to go/nogo decisions.
- Supervise portfolio budgets, retaining oversight of project expenditures within acceptable limits. Utilize change control mechanisms to address deviations exceeding the established tolerance.
- Identify and proactively address project risks, tackling challenges as they emerge to minimize potential disruptions to portfolio and project schedules and deliverables.
- Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and control of projects, upholding adherence to project plans and the attainment of project objectives and benefits.
