Our Water Group has an exciting opening to lead our Asset Strategies team within Queensland.

In this role, you will report to the Water Business Leader - Queensland and provide leadership to the Asset Strategies team to ensure alignment with company vision, strategy, initiatives, and culture.

An essential element of the role is to support the Business Leader in state based activities such as business development, business planning and performance in the asset management sector.

The role also has a strong focus on collaboration with Water Business Line peers from other offices and with other business lines within the region to positively impact the delivery of similar activities.

You will also be responsible for working with your team leaders to manage the group's professional development, career paths, safety and well-being.

While leading the team, you will also be responsible for delivering high quality asset management consulting services.


In this role you will bring your technical experience and leadership skills to a diverse group of highly skilled professionals that 'design with community in mind' to deliver asset management excellence for our clients.

You will join a dynamic and skilled team that works on asset management and advisory projects, not only locally, but across the APAC region.


Specifically, your responsibilities will include:


_Support in Operations and Performance_

  • Support the Business Leader to prepare an annual Business Plan and with monitoring and reporting on the performance of the teams.
  • Ensure allocated asset management projects and proposals are planned, programmed, and appropriately managed to meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Initiate and manage business development opportunities, actively participate in and lead client service through establishing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Coordinate resource and technical development requirements with Practice Leaders, technical Discipline Leaders and other Group Leaders based locally and in other BC offices
  • Prepare and/or review proposals, variation estimates, and submission documents, and review and evaluate subconsultant submissions to ensure they are suitable.

_People Leadership_

  • Participate in asset management projects as either Project Manager, Project Technical Leader or other substantive technical or delivery role.
  • Responsible for the team's talent management lifecycle including but not limited to; recruitment, career development, employee engagement, succession planning, coaching and mentoring, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development.
  • Review and monitor staff to ensure that performance objectives are being met, staff are engaged and performance issues are managed promptly, an awareness of mental health, and the general wellbeing of the staff.
  • Uphold a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, encourages individual integrity, and focuses on the customer and service delivery.
  • Promote a happy, supportive, and inclusive culture aligned with the core values to support the strategic intent of the business.

_Health and Safety_

  • Promote a safe work environment.
  • You will be responsible for the health and safety performance within your team, including the monitoring of leading and lagging indicators.

_Quality and Innovation_

  • Work with project delivery teams and Practice Leaders to drive quality and timely delivery of project deliverables to meet but preferably to exceed client expectations.
  • Work with the Business Leader to ensure that quality, safety and environmental requirements are met.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably postgraduate
  • Minimum of 10 years' related work, leadership, financial management and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Professional registration in a related fielD.
