Position Overview:

The Deputy Principal supports the Principal to implement the Strategic Plan.

Working closely with the Leadership Team, Wellbeing Team and Teaching and Learning Team, they are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational management and educational leadership of the School, ensuring alignment with the School's culture and values.


The Deputy Principal has oversight of the School's extensive programs and is delegated direct responsibility for key areas and strategic initiatives.


The Deputy Principal is a member of the School's Leadership Team and will deputise for the Principal as required and act for the Principal in their absence.


Requirements, Duties and Responsibilities (abridged - full PD available in Applicant Pack)

1. Leadership

  • Work closely with members of the Leadership Team to further develop and support a culture of professionalism, accountability and compassion, focusing on working with staff in the pursuit of the School's goals.
  • In conjunction with the Leadership Team, Wellbeing Team and Teaching and Learning Team, lead all aspects of the daytoday operational management and leadership of the School
  • Provide support and guidance to managers of key program areas to oversee: a.) Teaching and Learning b.) Cocurricular programs c.) Strategic Initiatives

2. Planning

  • Effectively disseminate current educational and wellbeing knowledge, research and policy to continue the advancement of the School.
  • Ensuring appropriate resourcing of the School to align with educational and financial expectations.

3. Operations

  • Act as a point of contact for supporting all school matters including liaising with staff, students and parents as necessary.
  • Facilitate a positive and dynamic working environment for each direct report by developing a team approach to ensuring open communication, transparent and effective decision making and collaborative work practices
  • Assist with the recruitment, induction and review processes for staff as required.

4. Child Safety
Staff are responsible for supporting the safety and wellbeing of the School's students as follows:
