THE ROLE
The Compliance Officer is responsible for the achievement of business objectives and in managing aspects of transport compliance within Victoria including:

  • Monitoring, managing and reporting on developments including changes in legislative, and regulatory obligations.
  • Engaging with and advising the business on effective management of its compliance obligations and performance improvement.
  • Implementation and maintenance of compliance framework and procedures.
  • Engagement with regulators
  • Support and encourage the organization in identifying and selfreporting on compliance issues, including supporting the investigation into such incidents, remediation plans, and continuous improvement.
  • Based at Braeside, however must be able to travel to our other sites in Truganina or Mulgrave when necessary.

RESPONISIBILITIES

  • Conduct all incident reporting and manage corrective actions
  • Manage NHVAS compliance for Victoria Operations
  • Monitor and manage Mass Management, Basic Fatigue Management (BFM), and understanding of the Chain of Responsibility (COR)
  • Conduct audits on logbooks, maintenance sheets, etc.
  • Carry out safety audits and conduct toolbox talks with drivers
  • Manage and monitor maintenance sheets
  • Facilitate necessary training for fleet management and maintenance
  • Manage the day to day issues experienced by the Victorian Operations.
  • Manage all accidents, incidents, and liaise with all insurance and legal officers within Victoria

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong work ethic with a passion and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Understanding of road legislation, NHVAS, and fatigue management regulations
  • Experience in a similar role or ability to demonstrate strong administrative and transport operational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Organizational and problemsolving abilities
  • Excellent customer focus
  • High regard for safe working practices

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of Transport and Logistics industry
  • Compliance officer experience
  • HC or MC license preferred
  • Understanding of road legislation NHVAS and fatigue management regulations
