About the role


We are seeking a Procurement Manager who will develop and implement organisational procurement and tendering strategies to enhance cost savings at the local school and system levels.

The role will implement frameworks for the procurement of goods and services across Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) and manage tender evaluations for high value contracts and manage key contracts through initiation, review and termination.

As a Procurement Manager you will be responsible for:

  • implementing the review of the procurement of goods and services across the SCS enterprise
- developing a robust framework for the procurement of goods and services and the establishment of "preferred supplier" relationships
- monitoring the procurement framework
- development of a procurement portal for the business
- developing policies and procedures for the procurement of goods and services
- maintaining all necessary records and documentation relevant to contracts and agreements
- facilitating high value tenders from start to finalisation
- negotiating pricing, discounts and rebates for the schools
- optimising the sourcing of goods and services for best fit to requirements, value and quality for the enterprise
- managing vendor relationships to optimise benefits
- management of supplier contracts across all schools
- preparing and submitting reports to the leadership team
- upporting and implementing Modern Slavery initiatives.


About you
- tertiary qualifications in a relevant area
- extensive experience in commercial entities
- experience in procurement, tendering and contract management
- understanding of current procurement issues
- ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
- experience in customer service and liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- expert knowledge in procurement, tendering and contract management while ensuring that risk, probity and transparency requirements are observed
- strong relationship management, negotiation, problem solving and dispute resolution skills
- process improvement experience
- current driver's licence
- knowledge of SCS procurement policies, Government best practices in procurement and s83c of the Education Act.
