As Director, Office of the Deputy Director-General you will lead and manage the delivery of quality tourism services to support Towards Tourism 2032.


Is this role you will:


  • Participate as a member of the Tourism Leadership Team in the development and promotion of the Tourism vision and implementation of the Tourism strategic agenda.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the office, including fostering a shared commitment to the vision and values of Tourism and the Department
  • Develop a performance focussed environment around the timely development, implementation and management of Tourism programs, systems and resources
  • Lead and effectively manage change associated with the development and delivery of the office's services
  • Provide high level strategic advice and support to the General Managers, Deputy Director-General, Director-General and Minister on the delivery of the office's activities and programs.
  • Lead and effectively manage the office, including leadership of business operational functions of financial management, human resources management, correspondence, governance and risk in accordance with department policy and procedures, delegation responsibilities where appropriate and managing such delegations.
  • Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with key stakeholders including working collaboratively with other DTIS Divisions to achieve the Tourism vision and ensure a coordinated, efficient delivery of departmental programs.
  • Represent the Tourism Division on high level departmental and external forums as directed by the Deputy Director-General.
  • Contribute to a workplace culture based on values and behaviours which maintain a positive work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, respectful and inclusive.
This position may be required to travel to regional and remote locations including overnight stays.

To be eligible for employment to this role you must possess:
Citizenship/Visa Requirements
You must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia.

If you are not an Australian citizen you will need to provide evidence of your residency status or visa, with your right to work (including any conditions / restrictions).

You are required to notify the department if your right to work in Australia ceases.


Qualifications:

There are no mandatory qualifications required for this role, however formal qualifications in Business Management would be highly regarded.

Your suitability for this role will be assessed against the Program Leader stream of the Leadership competencies for Queenslandframework by looking at what you've undertaken previously and what knowledge, skills and learned experiences you can bring to the team and the role, including your personal qualities, your potential for development as well as your attributes.
