CGM Aligned | Senior Manager

Join our high-calibre team within Macquarie's Group Treasury division, aligned to the Commodities & Global Markets (CGM) business.

This is a unique opportunity which will require you to think commercially and strategically, be forward-thinking and proactive, and consider broadly how internal and external factors will shape the success of Macquarie's activities in global financial markets.

We are looking for a Senior Manager to join the Group Treasury Commodities Global Markets aligned team.

This newly created team has a broad mandate and is responsible for partnering with the trading business on the management of Commodities Global Market's balance sheet, as well as end to end liquidity and capital transformation and uplift initiatives across the trading portfolio.


Within this role, you will:

  • Lead Group Treasury's review and approval of CGM's new product and business proposals, with specific focus on regulatory and internal liquidity treatment
  • Become a trusted business partner to CGM and provide advice on regulatory (APS210) and internal liquidity assumptions and treatments for CGM products and structures
  • Partner with other key internal stakeholder groups across Group Treasury, Finance and Risk in relation to CGM liquidity and funding
  • Using your indepth knowledge of derivatives, financial markets and liquidity risk, you will take a lead role in driving risk identification and acting in an advisory role on liquidity risk arising from new business activities
  • As a people manager, you will lead team members in risk identification and building knowledge and skills across the team

Ideally, your technical skills and qualifications will include:

  • Familiarity with APRA APS210 Liquidity standard and associated guidance
  • Indepth knowledge of CGM's products, which includes commodities, FX, rates, equities and credit markets products
  • You will be confident in interacting with stakeholders and resolving competing priorities
  • Outstanding academic background in a financial or quantitative degree
  • Previous experience within a Treasury function with exposure to liquidity risk
  • Knowledge of the banking sector and regulatory environment
  • Understanding of accounting concepts and principles including profit and loss and balance sheet analysis
