About The Role

ASRC Catering delivers a range of corporate and community catering services and the provision of a business to consumer meals program.

The Food and Beverage Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and delivering outstanding and friendly food and beverage service at the University of Melbourne Journeys Café.

This role will also be responsible for managing the Cafe, administering all phases of the kitchen operation, and ensuring that the kitchen is run to the company's operational and financial standards.

Responsible for providing food and services that exceed the customer's expectations, whilst maintaining ASRC Catering style and ethos.

About You
The Food and Beverage Supervisor will bring a passion for working in the kitchen and some hospitality experience.

This role will be responsible for undertaking the following duties:


  • Hospitality or customer service experience
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to deliver on key tasks independently
  • A strong attention to detail, accuracy and presentation
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding and actioning task lists, job sheets and recipes
  • A basic understanding of food preparation and food handling skills in an Australian context
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines whilst delivering a consistent, quality product, or guiding others in how to do so
  • The ability to collaborate with diverse groups of people, including those of diverse backgrounds, cultures and beliefs
  • Good communication skills with experience in customer service
  • Willingness to learn and be part of a team
Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable. Knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia, would also be advantageous.
