  • Mandatory**We are looking for Workforce Analysts in Canberra locations.

About the role:


A workforce analyst is responsible for:

  • Providing workforce analysis in support of the development and maintenance of workforce intelligence systems and tools.
  • Conducting labour force, demographic and socioeconomic analysis.
  • Developing total workforce requirements across the One Defence Capability System from First Pass to Disposal.
  • Conducting performance analysis based on selection, classification, and assessment
  • Conducting demographic and attitudinal surveys to provide advice on information obtained for the project.
  • Developing and maturing the project Workforce Plan from the First Pass baseline in support of future Second Pass approvals.
  • Working collaboratively with Army HQ and other workforce stakeholders to ensure the Workforce Plan accurately represents the total workforce requirement for the project and capability.
  • Assisting in delivering project outcomes that comply with relevant legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks and Defence quality and configuration management systems.
  • Working collaboratively, developing and maintaining beneficial, effective relationships with the customer, colleagues and other stakeholders.

You will have:


As the Workforce Analyst (Workforce Requirements) you are a specialist practitioner who works effectively in a complex environment, thinks critically, applies excellent problem-solving skills, and manages competing priorities with a focus on mitigating risks for acquisition and adoption of new technologies in a challenging environment.

You are highly organized, energetic, able to work with limited guidance, and outcome orientated with outstanding communication skills.

  • The ability to provide and deliver strategic level advice, presentations, and reports to the Defence senior executive while demonstrating forwardthinking and an appreciation of the unique characteristics of the Defence workforce environment.
  • That reports or services provided are commensurate with relevant Australian and international standards, regulations, and Defence requirements.
  • The ability to employ industry best practice when undertaking all duties.
  • Knowledge and experience in ICT along with ILS processes in accordance with industry and Defence policy.
  • Highly effective, formal and informal communication skills including advanced technical writing skills.
  • Initiative in keeping personal skills up to date, maintaining awareness of industry developments and pursuing continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to analyze, design, plan, execute, and evaluate work to time, cost and quality targets while assessing and evaluating risk.

Essential Criteria:


  • More than 8 years' experience in the field of Workforce Analysis or related HR discipline.
  • Understanding of workforce analysis and Defence HR systems.
  • Understanding of Defence processes and structure.
  • Understanding of the One Defence Capability System (formerly the Capability Life Cycle).
  • Very strong written and oral communication skills.

Desirable Criteria:


  • Postgraduate qualifications, or demonstrated equivalent experience in workforce intelligence/strategic HR
  • Experience working in a Defence CASG engineering and/or project environment.
  • Experience in preAcquisition project activities including design, development and tender evaluations
  • Experience in workforce analysis research, analysis, modelling, forecasting, evaluation and advice
  • Experience with Australian Defence Force Land Domain tactical communications and ICT technologies.
