You will:

Provide expert advice on professional, scientific and technical issues relating to asbestos. Provide specialist input to the development of asbestos legislation, information products, policies and enforcement activities. Represent Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) on internal and external committees and other forums to provide professional, scientific and technical advice on asbestos safety issues. Actively contribute to the effectiveness of the Queensland workplace health and safety program through the identification and development of innovative solutions to reduce risk of asbestos caused illnesses. Develop, deliver and evaluate education and training programs related to asbestos which will increase the engagement of stakeholders. Assist workplace health and safety regional officers through the provision of expert technical advice, input into audits and specialised projects. Produce reports and conduct reviews of technical information arising out of asbestos related serious workplace incidents, appearing as an expert witness in courts of law where necessary.
