Based out of Sydney Water West Ryde laboratories as part of the Trace Analysis team:

About the role
This role will work within the Trace Analysis team and will support the Sample Management team as required in Laboratory Services.
- Demonstrated experience in ICPMS, ICMS, LCMSMS or GCMSMS including maintenance, troubleshooting and problemsolving capabilities
- Carry out laboratory preparation and analysis using instrumentation within agreed customer timeframes
- Identify and report potential opportunities to optimise assets, equipment, systems and processes
- Training and mentoring staff
- Knowledge of quality assurance requirements for analysis of water and waste water products, including NATA ISO 17025 accreditation and ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
- Demonstrated competence with computer software packages used within a laboratory or field sampling environment (e.g. lab information system, scheduling software, Microsoft Office).
- Awareness of safety requirements related to the role and ability to demonstrate personal responsibility for safety and well being
About you
This role will ideally suit a team member with a chemistry / chemical engineering background and recent experience in laboratory practices.
You're comfortable working in a team setting, with an eagerness to learn and develop you understand safety is priority in a busy lab environment.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (Degree and/or equivalent Certificate in Science) and demonstrated experience within a related scientific discipline
- Greater than 5 years' experience working independently in a laboratory
- Be an approved signatory across a variety of methods
- Operate complex scientific instrumentation such as LCMSMS or GCMSMS and undertake various laboratory preparatory functions.
- Experience working in a NATA accredited laboratory and an understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 and other quality control processes
- Demonstrated commitment to identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives and completing projects within assigned time and resources
- High level communication skills including proven ability to work with clients to resolve issues
- Demonstrated experience in compliance and implementation of Safety and Well Being practices
- Willing to work outside core hours to meet contractual obligations
