The Company
This is a long-established consultancy that delivers clever and practical urban development solutions across Victoria.

The current construction team of five is being nurtured by a senior leader in the business.

To allow that person to focus more strategically, we are looking for a Construction Manager to provide technical input, to run their own project portfolio and to provide pastoral care to the team.

The role

- day to day
You will have been a Senior Construction Engineer for a number of years now. You'll be doing all the same things as before. including budgeting and tendering for new work.

Day to day will change as the role develops and you establish yourself in the group.

You'll be broadly covering the duties below:

Conduct site inspections
Review engineering designs for constructability
Managing construction phase of projects mostly land development.
Contract admin
Issue notifications to Water Authorities & Contractors to enable works
Liaise with Clients, Contractors, Sub-Contractors, relevant Authorities

And of course the role also requires you to:

Mentor others in the team and help them with their own work
Firefight as needed (let's be honest, it happens)

Your own development
You won't be the most senior construction engineer in the business. You will have another engineer to lean on and take technical guidance from, as needed. You don't need to 'have it all'. You'll continue to grow and develop.

All about you
We seek someone with experience in a similar position from a different consultancy.

With guidance from the leadership team, you will progress faster than before and the way the company is set up will allow for more autonomy.

Water Authority (MRWA) accreditation is essential - WA1, WA2, SA1, SA2.

A design background with degree qualification would bode well as well as commercial acumen and awareness.

Your salary will be based on your experience and ability to undertake the role - expected range would be $150k - $180k p/a package.
