Custody Management Coordinator - Melbourne City Centre, Australia - Victoria Police

About the role:
The Custody Operations & Logistics team is responsible for the state-wide coordination of prisoners in Victoria, and operates within the State Event Planning & Custody Management Division, State Emergencies and Support Command, located at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer St Docklands.
Your duties will include:
- Liaise with the private transport contractor (G4S), Corrections Victoria, Prisons, Youth Justice and Courts, to ensure the delivery of prisoners for court each day;
- Liaise with police locations to provide support for planned operations, cell closures and event management;
- In consultation with Corrections Victoria, facilitate the movement of Victoria Police prisoners into their facilities;
- Liaise with Youth Justice Parole Board and the Adult Parole Board, for the management of parole cancellations;
- Liaise with Forensicare to arrange the safe transport to and from court for mental health prisoners;
- Liaise with Victoria Police Custodial Health Services, to provide assistance for those prisoners in police custody with health management issues;
- Working with Corrections Victoria to manage the flow of prisoners from police to Corrections facilities, and the flow of prisoners from Corrections Victoria into police locations for the purpose of attending court;
- Use relevant systems to appropriately risk manage all prisoners in police custody;
- Provide advice to all areas of Victoria Police on operational policy regarding prisoners and other custodial matters.
- Additional tasks in line with the current COVID19 environment such as prisoner contact tracing, and COVID19 related advice for persons in custody.
- Support the audio and visual project (AVL) and provide guidance and information to stations upon request.

- Have a good level of ability to use Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Requirements and relevant information:
- One (1) x fulltime, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- This position requires shift work, starting at 5am, through to 9pm. The position requires work outside of normal business hours including Public Holidays and weekends. Shift work allowances and overtime will be paid in accordance with the provisions set out in the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020.
- Standard shifts are 5.00am start or 11.54am start Mon
- Fri and 6.00am start weekends and public holidays.
- You must hold a Victorian Drivers Licence and the ability to obtain a Victoria Police Approved Drivers Authority.
- Your usual place of work will be the Custody Management Division, State Emergencies and Support Command; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Command as required.
