About the role

The role of the Principal Project Officer (Assessment Services) is to lead and participate in teams to develop the suite of materials required for external assessments for each General senior syllabus and common internal assessments for Essential Applied senior syllabuses.

About the team

The Curriculum Services Division develops guidelines, syllabuses and assessment, and provides advice, resources and professional learning to support teachers and other stakeholders throughout Queensland.

You will work within the Assessment Services Unit, Senior Curriculum and Assessment Branch and with colleagues within the External Assessment Branch and the Program Delivery Branch.

Your key responsibilities


In this role you will:

- lead and participate in teams to develop professional learning and development resources responsive to the needs of Queensland teachers in accordance with current research pertaining to high quality external assessment development and administration
- lead operational teams responsible for quality-assurance processes to support state-wide implementation of external assessment
- design and present training programs, workshops, seminars and support materials for internal QCAA staff and other key stakeholders to support external assessment and associated activities
- provide expert advice to Managers and Assistant Directors in the Curriculum Services Division and the Assessment, Reporting and ICT Division on matters related to external assessment development and administration
- manage and deliver business priorities within designated timelines and using allocated resources
- liaise with Principal Education Officers, Learning Area Managers and external stakeholders to enact efficient marking operations, data collection and analysis, and marker intervention as required
- create and maintain professional relationships between the QCAA and key stakeholders
- contribute to a change management and performance development culture by participating in regular two-way feedback discussions with managers and colleagues, and through the implementation of an individual Performance and Development Plan (PDP).
