About the job


Our client, an international supplier of tires to the transport, logistics and resources industries, is in the lookout for a Store Manager for their retail workshop in Kewdale.


The Role:


Reporting to the Retail Manager, this Store Manager will manage the retail workshop which provides in-house tyre, rim and wheel service to passenger vehicles, trucks and buses.

You will lead a team of retail tyre fitters and will be responsible for ensuring the workshop operates in a way that always maximises the safety of staff and customers.

Your Responsibilities:

Quoting

  • Respond to requests for quotations for tyres, wheels and fitting in a timely manner
  • Research market costs and selling prices, negotiation of purchase price with supplier and adopting FTI's pricing guidelines to prepare a quote
  • Provide quotations verbally or in writing, as requested by the customer
Procurement

  • Determine tyre, rim and accessory availability for scheduled works
  • Procure tyres from existing stocks or by ordering from suppliers in a timely manner
Scheduling

  • Schedule the works in the retail bay to meet customer and FTI service expectations
  • Ability to manage ad hoc service requests while maintaining agreed timeframes for scheduled customer work
Workshop Management

  • In conjunction with the Retail Leading Hand, provide a complete assessment and fitting service including: Tyre analysis, Fitting tyres to rims, Wheel balancing, Fitting wheels to vehicles, Wheel alignment, Puncture repairs.
General housekeeping

  • Ensure all tools and machinery are operated as designed and appropriate care is taken when handling tools to ensure damage is minimized.
  • Ensuring the workshop and all work areas are clean, neat and tidy and free from safety hazards.
Safety

  • Lead the retail team to ensure the workshop operates in a way that maximises the safety of staff and customers
  • Lead the development of safety policies and procedures as they relate to the retail workshop
  • Continuously improve work practices to minimize the possibility of injury to staff and customers
Sales Invoicing

  • Ensure customers are invoiced for work completed in the retail workshop in an accurate and timely manner
  • Processing payments for cash sales

You need to have:


  • You have relevant experience in a similar role
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • You have a C and HR class Drivers Licence and a Forklift License
  • Motor Vehicle Repairers Certificate
  • Tyre Repairers Licence
  • Experience in using Microsoft 365 product suite (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)

Salary:
$75, $80,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kewdale, WA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:


  • Leadership: 1 year (preferred)
  • Retail management: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Forklift Licence (preferred)
  • Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

  • Australia (required)
