Disruptions Lead.

As the Level Crossing Removal Project continues to deliver a safer and more efficient train network, the Metro team involved in this large-scale project is expanding to respond to current and future works.

About the role:


Working with the wider Disruptions & Passenger Experience team you will represent the MLXRT portfolio at Network wide disruption forums, including Network Readiness, to coordinate approvals of all occupations from the development phase through to emergency occupations, including TOC (Total Outturn Cost) development costs, inputs, critical resource forecasting and Operational risks.


Some Key areas of Responsibility are:

  • Provide support to the Disruptions and Passenger Experience Manager to deliver strategic initiatives that unlock network constraints and deliver a more efficient and transparent disruption planning process.
  • Lead the coordination of all Level Crossing Removal Project disruptions and work with the Head of Disruption Planning to gain the best for network outcomes and alignment across other Project portfolios, Infrastructure and other operators.
  • Manage external stakeholder relationships with VicRoads, Vline and Yarra Trams relating to occupations, to ensure the best program is developed to meet resource constraints, especially cross operator constraints such as bus availability
  • Identify and mitigate risks with program clashes and ensure the appropriate business cases are developed in a timely manner.

About You:


  • Current or progression towards formal Tertiary or Project Management qualifications
  • 5 years' experience in planning and coordination of large scale (or complex) projects, preferably Rail Projects
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate for key outcomes through strong stakeholder management with a variety of complex stakeholders
  • Experience of engagement across multi disciplinary organisations and stakeholder groups
