Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform market research and gather customer feedback in order to define, prioritize and develop corresponding justifications for market requirements of new products
- Support the product development organization by representing the voice of the customer throughout the entire life cycle of the product
- Develop and implement product launch plans including sales training, positioning, competition, sales tools, pricing, etc.
- Develop and recommend pricing strategies for each product which meet the revenue and profitability goals of the company
- Support the sales organisation and customers by providing information about products, technology, or other issues requiring marketing input or assistance
- Assist in developing relationships with customers for consulting, presenting, case studies, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of product information brochures and other materials for the products represented
- Prepare and conduct presentations to outside suppliers, customers, senior management, and field sales force relating to marketing of new products
- Serve as the company expert with respect to our competition for the assigned product areas and ensure realtime communication of updates to the field, senior management and customer support organizations
- Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required
Education and Experience:
- Proven experience in a product management role ideally in life sciences or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing with industry experience in Life Science /related field, OR Bachelor's degree in Life Science/related with industry experience in Product Management/related
- Advanced Degree (MS, MBA, PhD) highly regarded
- Solid quantitative analytical skills as they relate to conducting market analysis and market research, establishing product strategies, working with product development teams, forecasting and pricing
- Demonstrated success in defining and launching new products
- Proven experience with developing sales support materials and tools for product commercialization
- Effective analytical problem solving and decisionmaking skills
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret business periodicals, scientific journals, and package inserts
- Refined communication and ability to manage up and down
- Proficient working with Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office
