In the role of Principal Advisor (Government Partnerships) you will be part of the team responsible for an intergovernmental relations function within TMR, with a strong focus on policy coordination and external partnerships.

You will also be required to work across the Government Partnerships team in response to business needs to ensure the effective delivery of the broader Government Partnerships priorities and workload.


Some of your responsibilities will include: - Developing and nurturing effective external relationships with stakeholders, committees and working groups across Queensland

  • Developing and critically analysing complex policies and advising on significant policy issues, including strategic priorities for Queensland
  • Providing support, and writing correspondence on behalf of the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General, and Executive Director, such as Cabinet submissions, ministerial correspondence, briefing notes and policy/ research papers on complex policy issues relevant to the transport network
  • Working collaboratively and constructively within the Government Partnerships team to contribute to a cohesive and high performing work unit, whilst actively participating in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.
Please note, this role undertakes travel within Queensland.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: - Strong time management and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities and deliver high quality outputs.

Ability to build and sustain enduring relationships through stakeholder engagement to enable better customer-focused outcomes. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor the approach to the audience.

Contributing proactively to the broader team as a senior team member and taking personal responsibility for delivery of your work.

An open class C drivers' license is highly desired
