HR Business Partner (People Specialist)

Permanent - Full Time (Flexible working options with 1-2 days in office)

Goodstart are currently seeking a HR Business Partner (internal title is People Specialist) to work across National and State Portfolio's supporting leaders as part of the state based Senior Leadership Teams, as well as working within the National HR team on initiatives that support our people plan.

Your Impact:


  • As part of the National People & Culture team you will lead and drive the achievement of desired business objectives through expert knowledge of, and commitment to, developing and implementing effective, fit for purpose national and state people solutions, aligned with Goodstart's strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Working with senior leaders in South Australia and Western Australia and reporting to the Head of People, this role will act as a strategic and trusted advisor by developing a deep understanding of the business to support the achievement of our strategic people plan.
  • You will bring solid HR business partnering experience and the ability to develop and implement our people strategy across diverse teams, particularly with regards to talent, capability and leadership.
  • You will also have experience in employment relations, change management and/or project management experience and have a proven capacity to operate both strategically and operationally.
  • You will be highly influential in driving change, not just within the HR function but across the whole organization. You will also have a track record of delivering high quality outcomes to enable business and team excellence and be a respected professional with the ability to influence stakeholders on all levels.
  • Have a systems lens, able to see how the separate elements fit together within HR and across the wider organisation and work effectively as a member of virtual functional and crossfunctional teams.
  • Be adaptable and able to work in an environment that has periods of high activity (fast paced) and competing demands.

You'll bring to the table:


  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Be adept at translating HR and organisational theory into pragmatic, fit for purpose, practice.
  • Have analytical and commercial skills to identify insights and actions from people and business metrics and engagement results.
