JOB DESCRIPTION:


The Group Coordinator is a clinical role that is responsible for clinical oversight and the administration required to coordinate group programs and workshops for Open Arms.

In this role, you will help provide leadership to contracted facilitators and trainers.

You will also participate in providing workshops or treatment groups to ensure facilitators and trainers are in a position to maintain their skills and their clinical focus.

The role also ensures quality service delivery and oversight.


DUTIES:


  • Coordination of group program client related activities including assessment screening, program delivery, client support, risk management, evaluation, and follow up
  • Contribute to group program delivery as a facilitator of treatment groups or trainer for psycho education workshops
  • Coordinate administrative aspects of group programs and psycho education workshops.
  • Participate in national policy development, initiatives and continuous quality improvement.
  • Participation in and contribution to ongoing learning and development activities and maintenance of professional status.
  • Participation in community development and service promotion activities.

MANDATORY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Tertiary qualifications in teaching, training and facilitation, ideally within a mental health/community sector,
    OR:
  • Qualifications as a registered Psychologist/Mental Health Occupational Therapist/Mental Health Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration, OR
  • Qualification as a Social Worker eligible for membership of the Australian Association Social Workers (AASW)

AND:


  • Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance
  • Knowledge of mental health programs
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Experience developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships
  • Current drivers license

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Relevant management experience
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by those who have served in the Australian Defence Force
