Our breathtaking resort, positioned at the heart of the new Queen's Wharf Brisbane precinct, will commence a staged opening in 2024, bringing a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre to the river city.


The Hotel Operations Manager, reporting to the Director of Hotels, offers the opportunity to lead the hotel team, overseeing all aspects of a guest's stay to ensuring a world class guest service experience, all whilst delivering on The Star Brisbane's business objectives.

This position will ensure a positive and exciting team environment where safety, flawless delivery and execution of product excellence and service are paramount.

A few of your responsibilities

  • Manage team member engagement, performance, and development of the hotel team
  • Inspire the team to constantly seek out opportunities to create memorable and personalised stays for all guests
  • Lead and support the achievement of financial and operational targets through effective organisational development, team training activities and regular review of departments financial reports
  • Manage and control labour costs and operating expenses ensuring operational requirements are met
  • Clearly demonstrate our commitment to service excellence through effective implementation and delivery of The Star core values
  • Encourage and demonstrate a positive working relationship across all departments at The Star Brisbane

What we will be looking for

  • Previous experience in hotel management in a 5star hotel
  • Diploma or degree in hospitality management
  • Knowledge of Opera system is advantageous
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

About you
You will be an experienced Hotel Manager within a five-star hotel or integrated Resort. In addition, you have experience implementing new strategies ensuring operational efficiencies whilst enhancing the guest experience. You will bring a collaborative and welcoming mindset and understand the importance of embedding this culture within your team.


You will have demonstrated strategic planning, resource management, cost control, and effective leadership experience in people management coupled with effective communication and influencing skills.


You will be critical in leading the team through change and have a demonstrated understanding of relevant industry regulatory requirements with experience embedding these requirements as part of your ways of working.
