The Opportunity
The Quality Officer will work in the plant to sample and test raw materials, in process and finished product, and packaging materials, in addition to environmental monitoring, water sampling and in factory hygiene checks.
Key accountabilities include:
- Collect and submit samples for laboratory analysis to inhouse and 3rd party laboratory for microbiological, chemical, and nutritional analysis.
- Conduct preop inspection, environmental swab to ensure the cleanliness of processing area.
- Accurately document QA processes and test/sample results and maintain recordkeeping in accordance with established laboratory requirements.
- Develop awareness and understanding of corporate policies, practices, and procedures related to Food Safety and HACCP.
- Collect, monitor, and report on customer complaints and corrective action progress.
Above all else, you will be reliable, self-motivated and a great team member. Whilst prior QA experience would be highly regarded, it is not essential and graduates or those with a vocational qualification are encouraged to apply.
To be successful in this role, you will have
- a relevant qualification in science, laboratory techniques, food science or food technology
- a high level of attention to detail
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Sound computer literacy
- Ability to follow written procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work rotation shift work.
