About the role


An exciting full time position has become available for an Administration Team Leader to assist the Administration Manager to oversee the clerical staff at Brisbane Private Hospital.

This role requires a hands on approach to all areas of responsibility, with a significant supervisory component. You will lead from the front demonstrating your exceptional customer service skills.


As the Administration Team Leader your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee hospital administration function in areas such as:
  • Front Reception, Preadmissions, Theatre & Day Surgery admissions, discharge of patients, Ward Clerks
  • Financial consent management including private health funding eligibility, patient accounts, billings, debtor's collection and accounts payable
  • Manage rosters, staffing and supervision of staff, assist Administration Manager with ongoing staff development including appraisals
  • Perform process review and ongoing change management where required
  • Assist Patient Administration Manager in maximising team performance through achieving team & hospital KPIs.
  • Handle enquiries and resolve complaints
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient records via Webpas

Selection Criteria:


  • Previous experience working within health care
  • Demonstrated people leadership and supervisory skills
  • Established planning and organizational skills
  • Welldeveloped problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Selfdirected and motivated with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise
  • Experience in managing/undertaking switchboard functions
  • Welldeveloped professional communication skills (written and spoken)
