Due to growth, we are looking for a

Team Leader - Claims to lead the day to day operations of an experienced and enthusiastic team of Claims Specialists.


You will:


  • Manage a small team of claims specialists across Home & Contents, Business Package & Liability claims.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of service.
  • Foster positive relationships both internally and externally to improve business profitability.
  • Accountable for the ongoing development and implementation of claims initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all Service Level Agreements and client reporting requirements.

About you:


  • Professional and tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded and desired, but are not essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years claims experience with Home & Contents, Business Package & Liability claims preferred with alternate claims backgrounds also considered.
  • Experience with management of teams that manage claims of varying degrees of complexity.
  • Strong evidence of insurance claims handling, preferably in commercial claims.
  • Understanding of the Insurance Contracts Act.
  • Experience in the demands and understanding the needs of brokers.
  • Experience with understanding Large Loss reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills relative to claims handling.
  • Strong negotiations skills.
  • Experience in performing audits.
