The Infrastructure and Works Group is responsible for carrying out Council's capital works program, as well as maintaining its civil assets, buildings, vegetation, and fleet.

We need a talented and skilled individual to oversee all functional areas within the group while managing a team of 150 operational staff and ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative obligations.

  • Manage Council's capital works program on time and within budget
  • Manage the delivery of costeffective maintenance services as per agreed levels of service
  • Manage and lead Council's outdoor staff, Shire presentation team, civil works, vegetation and building maintenance teams.
  • Prioritise and manage reactive customer requests within approved budgets
  • Manage effective utilisation of Council's fleet and deliver fleet management solutions
  • Drive best practice procurement activities to ensure value for money and ensure resources are used effectively and efficiently
  • Direct safe work practices and ensure that Council fulfils its health and safety obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 201
  • Improve planning processes and reporting to enhance business performance and accountability
  • Ensure sustainable financial management of council assets
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Provide expert advice to both the executive team, Mayor and Councillors

You are an individual who embraces growth, innovation and customer service, and who is passionate about delivering positive community outcomes in a fast paced and complex environment.

You have excellent communication and advocacy skills, and you can build effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders. You are aware of the broader social, political, and economic issue that affect local, state and federal government sectors. You also have relevant tertiary qualifications for this role.
