Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG) plays an integral role in education both in the ACT and NSW operating 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and eight Early Learning Centres.


About the Role


As an Assistant Finance Business Partner your role will be to support the Finance Business Partner team, stakeholders, and CE executives within the organisation.


In this role, you will provide assistance to Finance Business Partners in preparing detailed financial planning and analysis services, including budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, financial analyses, and other ad hoc requirements.


This role sees you building relationships with critical internal clients across the organisation, and driving initiatives to continuously evolve FP&A services to support performance and operations of CE.

Key responsibilities

  • Monthly results preparation, analysis, and management reporting, including analysis of P&L results during and following period end close, and the preparation of monthly management packs.
  • Perform financial budgeting, forecasting, and planning to better enable the organisation to achieve its strategic goals.
  • Perform financial analysis including scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, driverbased analysis, and other forms of financial modelling.
  • Provide meaningful financial insights to clients through regular and ad hoc management reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement through BAU activities and projects.

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business and hold current associate membership level of a relevant professional accounting body such as CA/CPA.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience across similar Finance roles.
  • Experience within Financial Planning & Analysis functions.
  • Ability to develop and manage & influence stakeholders and build partnerships to support effective organisation change.
  • Ability to access, analyse and interpret data to support the continuous improvement of services.
  • An understanding of financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Effective consultation, facilitation and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to analyse financial data to understand insights and provide strategic advice.
  • Financial modelling and business case development skills.
