About the role:

The Procurement services team is looking for an experienced Purchasing Advisor to provide comprehensive procurement services to the Corporation.

This includes strategic sourcing, purchasing, and expediting of a broad range of goods and services (predominantly goods) to agreed standards and specifications.

What the role will involve:

Review and verify the adequacy of shopping carts received for the acquisition of goods and services to ensure that they are accurate
Review Robotic generated purchase orders ensuring information is accurate prior to releasing purchase orders.
Solicit bids for the acquisition of goods and services as required and prepare recommendations for approval.
Identify and establish preferred and prequalified suppliers.
Purchase goods and services as required to established standards and specifications, ensuring value for money principles are applied.
Actively negotiate product savings with suppliers and investigate process improvement opportunities.
Liaise with manufacturers, contractors and suppliers to resolve matters relating to timely delivery of goods. and services.
Ensure that data entered into the Corporation's SRM eprocurement and SAP MM Systems is accurate, complete and reliable.
Provide hands on education and training to customers in the use of SRM eProcurement and SAP MM.

Key skills and experience:

Considerable Procurement experience in a large multidisciplined engineering focussed commercial organisation.
Considerable experience and demonstrated capability in supplier/contractor evaluation and product evaluation specifically with goods procurement.
Demonstrate ability to prioritise effort, effectively lead and influence.
The ability to effectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders and develop strong working relationships within the corporation.
