About the BHP Project
Alstom has been providing sustainable infrastructure solutions in Australia for more than 100 years and is working on of the industry largest singinalling projects alongside BHP.
The project currently employs approximately 1,600 people across more than 25 sites that include Engineering centers, manufacturing facilities, project delivery offices and maintenance depots & workshops.
Alstom look to improve their operations of their networks through the provision of the latest, advanced signalling technologies including Interlockings, ETCS level 1 & 2 and CBTC for industrial rail.
Overview
- The junior planner establishes and updates the detailed project schedule, including leading the integration of subschedules from all parties involved in the project.
- The need is to regularly track and report progress against the baseline schedule and continuously monitor risks and opportunities as well as proactively develops scenarios, mitigation or backup plans if required.
- The junior planner produces schedulerelated KPI's as required by the project and act as an important member of the change control board.
- Supports the project Manager in discussions related to delays and/or improvements of the schedule.
_Key Responsibilities:
_
- Responsible for establishing, updating and resource load the schedule based on common objectives within the project
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting on schedule progress and deviations within all parties involved.
- Communicating schedule to all parties involved.
- Regularly monitoring critical path(s) of the schedule to identify risks and opportunities and develop mitigation or recovery plans
- The role is mandated to make any internal contacts, and in a consortium, any external contacts, needed to perform the duties
- Regularly update the Lead Planner with all progress or delays to the schedule.
_Qualifications / Experience:
_
- A university degree, preferably in Engineering or Business OR tertiary qualification with planning & scheduling experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant role within Railway industry is highly preferable.
- Planning experience on projects of similar scale within any industry.
- Knowledge of relevant software
- Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI.
