ABOUT THE ROLE


Lead and direct NSW Ambulance Clinical Education staff and resources to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of clinical education and training systems for clinical and operational roles, maintaining a highly skilled and adaptable workforce capable of delivering high quality safe care to patients.


This position is required to cultivate a culture of continuous learning within the organisation, enhancing the capability of all clinical and operational staff in the performance of their roles, ensuring high standards of clinical quality and patient safety.

The position is responsible for ensuring education systems are aligned with the strategies, policies and priorities of the organisation.


The Associate Director Clinical Education is responsible for ensuring NSW Ambulance develops and maintains capacity to meet its workforce requirements through foundational education incorporating the vocational and tertiary sectors as well as ongoing education and specialist training programs.

This includes maintaining accreditation with relevant regulatory authorities such as the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and the Australian Skills Quality Authority.

The Associate Director Clinical Education is responsible for development and delivery of post entry level qualification educational and credentialing systems that enable staff to maintain high standards of performance

ABOUT YOU

We're interested in hearing from people who can:

  • Lead the development and delivery of high quality education and training systems ensuring the availability of a confident and capable frontline workforce equipped to provide high quality, timely and safe patient care.
  • Review, develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure frontline staff are appropriately credentialed to achieve clinical and performance benchmarks in accordance with frontline role scopes of practice
  • Lead and manage the NSW Ambulance Registered Training Organisation ensuring compliance with legislated national standards and facilitate continuous improvement of education and training through benchmarking against contemporary best practice, regulatory and industry standards
  • Facilitate consultation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, developing and maintaining effective partnerships to support innovation in education systems and enhances workforce development
  • Develop and lead the implementation of change management initiatives that ensure a best practice professional culture and lifelong learning.
  • Monitor and develop strategies for improved work standards and performance of the Clinical Education Directorate including effective and efficient allocation of directorate human and physical resources
  • Monitor, report on and review corporate governance, probity and risk management functions and frameworks relevant to the role
  • Ensure a positive workplace culture where bullying, harassment and inappropriate work place behaviours are not tolerated. This may include the need to negotiate, conciliate, and resolve escalated workplace conflict matters
