What you will be doing and will be responsible for:

The Digital and Design Specialist is responsible for creating digital assets, campaigns and graphic designs, that will be used to engage and inspire individuals and organisations in the community, to support the fundraising objectives and to support the Breakthrough team in the achievement of the organisational strategic direction.


The role will work as part of the Media and Communications team to provide digital and design support for Breakthrough.


This position will report to the Head of Development, will work closely with the Media & Communications Specialist and all Breakthrough team members.


Key Responsibilities:


Implement and oversee digital media marketing functions, including SEM, SEO, social digital media, performance marketing, campaigns, website creation and management.


  • In partnership with the development team, drive digital campaigns to support fundraising objectives, including online advertising, social media, and website utilisation.
  • Provide creative and expert advice about digital and online support of fundraising initiatives.
  • Campaign management and Marketing reporting across Google Analytics (SEM, SEO, Website) and Facebook Ads Manager.
  • Develop digital versions of newsletters and contribute to the development and implementation of social media strategies.
  • Conduct ongoing research and evaluation of best practice and trends in social media/content marketing.
  • Execute design briefs within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Design and work with suppliers to produce visual assets, including EDM's, brochures, flyers, stationary, publications, visual displays, advertisements, merchandise, and any other requests using the required software and file formats.
  • Maintain relationships with external and internal suppliers, stakeholders and any outsourcing contractors of graphic design projects and printing where applicable.
  • Maintain themes and design layouts in accordance with the fundraising strategies, activities, and initiatives, within the annual activity calendars.
  • Coordinate and execute photo shoots and video production to support the fundraising objectives and advise where external expertise may be required.
  • Work as a part of the development team to develop and execute the marketing and communications strategies.

'What you look like' and need to demonstrate to be successful'.

  • 3 years prior experience in a Digital Marketing role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Graphic design and visual communications (Desirable)
  • Previous highlevel experience in managing website content, social media, and graphic design (Desirable).
  • Knowledge with design software including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Desirable)
  • Highly competent in the use of MS Suite Office Applications and Outlook and other database software.
  • Experience in Google Analytics & Facebook Ads Manager.
  • High level experience in the endtoend management of design and digital assets.
  • Experience with the use of a DLSR camera for photography and video production and ability to adapt to changes in technology.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management, communication, and negotiation skills with ability to work autonomously and with limited direction.
  • A positive 'can do' attitude and caring disposition with the ability to display kindness and empathy in all dealings.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and operationally and willingness to be handson.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • A genuine team player who supports other team members with their workload when required, recognising and celebrating the achievement of other team member
