Saunders' growth strategy and awarded project portfolio means we have an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor.

The work will be based at Badgerys Creek NSW, being primarily onsite.


The HSE Advisor will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager & HSEQ Manager for the ongoing implementation, auditing and continued improvement of our HS&E systems and processes and monitoring compliance.

Providing expert knowledge and advise whilst working in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders onsite.


Your responsibilities include:


  • Provide expert knowledge and advice and work in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders onsite.
  • Ensure sitebased inspections and task observations are completed;
  • Ensure project personnel have the necessary competencies and complete the necessary documentation for equipment utilised onsite.
  • Be responsible for having training and induction records onsite up to date.
  • Support onsite incident investigations.
  • Provide injury management/rehabilitation (suitable duties) services.
  • Deliver workplace safety training such as inductions, awareness, and site work health and safety training.
  • Complete monthly project statistics and reports.
  • Participate in project toolbox and prestart meetings.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance to project SHEQ Management plan and relevant legislations.
  • Preform reviews of Company and Subcontractor SWMS for compliance and improvements
  • Provide coaching for HS&E performance improvement.
  • Identify and implement controls for highrisk activities on project in accordance with legislation and code of practices.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth WHS and Environmental Legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Identify HS&E risks and action plans are developed, implemented, and reviewed.
  • Develop safe work and environmental practices to mitigate risk.
  • Provide site HS&E subcontractor management.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessor
  • ICAM qualified
  • White card
