    About the Company
    The Client is a multinational with multiple global and APAC-based entities under its umbrella. They are forming a new Data & Analytics Team to help centralise their data to enable their APAC organisation to become more data-driven in their decision-making.

    About the Role
    As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in centralising the organisation's APAC data from disparate systems to a Cloud Data Lake before moving on to working Advanced Analytics solutions. Leveraging your experience in Finance Reporting/Solutions, Master Data, Cloud and ETL, you will initially establish a high-quality data lake to improve Reporting solutions across the business. Once those initial building blocks are in place, the organisation will then start Advanced Analytics and Data Science projects. Long-term, you will be empowered to help define the Data Roadmap and will be encouraged to explore and suggest new technologies to expand Data capabilities.

    Duties

    • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ETL processes within cloud environments.
    • Modernise and re-shape the way the organisation's month-end and wider Financial Reporting is carried out
    • Oversee Azure Cloud infrastructure and services including: Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, Apache Spark.
    • Integrate a wide range of disparate source systems and databases to the centralised Azure data lake.
    • Collaborate with internal business stakeholders to understand different systems (ERP, CRM etc.) and the organisational data uses to build a high-quality data lake.
    • Consult with internal colleagues to understand business logic
    • Support future Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning projects.
    • Promote the utilisation and understanding of Master/Metadata while driving its development.
    • Lead best practice in data handling and storage methods.


    Skills & Experience

    • Experience working on Finance Reporting Transformations, Projects or Solutions
    • Experience working commercially with Cloud Technology (AWS, GCP or Azure) and on-prem data warehouses
    • ETL, data migration and/or integration experience (SSIS, stored procs., ADF etc.)
    • Master data concepts and tool understanding
    • Experience with data architecture concepts and dimensional data modelling concepts
    • Python and SQL experience
    • Ability to seek solutions and passion for learning new technologies
    • Bonus: CI/CD, Power BI, Bicep and/or ML concepts
