AN EXCITING NEW PROJECT IN THE LIVERPOOL AREA - NOW RECRUITING DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKERS - AUSTRAL

Pegasus Care is excited to announce a new Supported Independent Living project in the Austral, Liverpool Area and we are looking at recruiting a Disability Support Worker work with us who has
experience with mental health and challenging behaviours to work in a variety of settings to utilise and build on their specific skill base.


Within this role you will be supporting a young man to live as independently as possible by building his life skills and ability to engage with his favourite activities.


The role is a dynamic one with plenty of opportunity to make a significant contribution to the young man's life in his home and within the community.


The successful applicant will be supported by a cohesive team of support workers, a key worker and team leader to learn the specific skills to excel in this role.

Ongoing training is provided.


The role requires staff to be available to work across a
24/7 rosterwhich will include
weekends, public holidays, and may include night shift/sleepover shifts.

To ensure the smooth running of the Service,staff will need to
commit to a minimum of 30hpw


You will need well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a Team as well as family members, you will need good communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to follow the routines and protocols in the setting in which you work.


The successful applicant must be able to show experience in some or all of the following:


  • Mental Health Experience

Managing Challenging Behaviour and Behaviour Support

  • Previous sector experience
  • Willingness to assist with Personal Care as required
  • Provision of Community Access
  • Implementation of Individual Goals, Plans, Routines
  • 100 points of ID
  • The right to work in Australia
  • Australian NSW Drivers Licence
  • Reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance
  • Provide evidence of vehicle registration
  • NDIS Worker Clearance Certificate
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Work (or similar)
  • Completed NDIS Worker Induction Module
  • Quality, Safety & You


  • Infection Control Training

  • COVID19 Certificate
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Evidence of COVID19 vaccination

Job Types:
