about the role


Chevron Australia Downstream has an exciting opportunity for a
n Associate Business Consultant who will manage an existing network of company operated retail sites and drive growth through these locations.

Reporting to the National COCO Manager, this exciting opportunity will be based in Brisbane with some intrastate travel.


Responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to the following:

Compliance and Operational Standards

  • Ensure fuel compliance processes are in place
  • Direct, monitor and support the management of performance compliance and merchandising processes of Retail sites
  • Manage Retail KPI's, Visual Standards and HSE standards and requirements in line with Chevron Operating System and guidelines
  • Conduct Business Standard audits and Customer Focused Scorecard audits for all sites as required
  • Operational lead for the set up and closure of retail sites

Staff Management

  • Participate in all aspects of the employee lifecycle and staff management
  • Comply with the performance process by ensuring SMART goals are set and reviewed as per the company policy
  • Manage performance of the team to ensure a high standard and immediately address any performance issues.
  • Develop a strong understanding of and be able to train Retail Employees in the POS and backoffice systems at both site and cluster level

Administration and Financial Management

  • Review and analyse company monthly profit & loss statements, identifying areas for improving the profitability of the business. Analyse, report and develop action plans for underperforming sites.
  • Assess and determine Repair & Maintenance and CAPEX each site requires to achieve an optimal return and to Manage the OPEX/CAPEX budget to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Elevate and followup Repair & Maintenance/CAPEX issues with Asset Services dept.
  • Understand competitor activity and work closely with retail fuel pricing team
  • Foster open and cooperative relationships and working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be involved with special project development, leading and implementation when required

Qualifications:


  • Preferred Degree or Diploma in Business Management

Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Retailing/FMCG/Hospitality in a management position, multi sites an advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working with Retail Franchisee operations an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in fresh food retailing and merchandising
  • Excellent knowledge in food safety compliance standards an advantage

Skills & Competencies:


  • Proven commercial experience including the development of budgets and the analysis and interpretation of financial results (understand and read a P&L statement).
  • Ability to lead large and remote teams with demonstrated ability to coach and mentor
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Leadership ability to resolve conflicts, ensure the team is motivated to meet and exceed performance expectations.
  • Exceptional problemsolving skills: ability to anticipate issues and resolve them before they escalate.
  • Coaching and mentoring.
  • Advanced or intermediate computer and Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of HSE requirements and responsibilities.
  • Be Customer oriented.

Other:


  • Willingness to regularly travel both Intrastate and Interstate
  • Willingness to be on call after hours, on weekends and public holiday
  • Police Clearance
  • Hold and maintain a current driver's license
