We have an exciting role to join our team as a Group Planning Analyst.

As our Group Planning Analyst you will assist and support the Merchandise Team in the achievement of budgeted sales, gross profit and inventory productivity measures.

Reporting to the Group Planning and Commercial Manager you will get the opportunity to directly influence our profitability by turning data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.


The role will be involved in:

  • Maintaining excel based tools
  • Interpreting data and analysing results
  • Developing and implementing databases
  • Acquiring data from multiple data sources
  • Reporting
The Key Accountabilities of this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintain, and improve existing excel based tools
  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and "clean" data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct source problems
  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Building and producing reports
  • Conducting analysis and making recommendations

To be successful you will need to have:

  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
  • Technical expertise regarding data model, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Knowledge of statistics
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Ability to take a proactive approach and think strategically
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
